"This is an upgrade from my 6 year old NR916-N commercial Lorex 16 channel NVR with 2k cameras, which was a nice system, but slow. Overall this new system has a much quicker response on the PC App and the Android Phone App and I like it. I would strongly recommend this system for home owners and small businesses. The photo quality that you can provide to the police to solve a problem is very nice. Not great when you zoom in, but still high quality. In 4k it only records at 15fps, which is ok but I was hoping for 30fps. I think you will be very happy with this system overall and if you happen to have any issues their tech support team does a great job at helping you to resolve. NOTE: I have used my system to locate deliveries that ended up at my neighbors, an accident in front of my neighbors, etc. . . Best wishes. . ."

"I love your camera. I love the recorder in the space it has. The system is very easy to use and is very reliable on my phone. I have no complaints other than I wished there was an option for more hardwired cameras. I will say, however, that the doorbell camera I have, I can barely ever get it to come up and so I don’t even use it anymore other than for a doorbell."

"I bought these cameras for a new construction and ran the CAT 5e cable that came with them. Unfortunately, I tested the cable after install and all (4) cables were bad. I ended up running my own CAT 6 to replace them."

"Equipment looks very cool and it's fairly easy to install. I was expecting way more from a 4K+ 12 MP resolution when wired. the NVR it's a bit to noisy having only two cam and the video door bell. My bad part was that I didn't research properly to see if camera can be zoomed and tilted. Not sure if the price makes sense for this equipment as I didn't shopped around! I can tell for sure that the Lorex reps are very responsive and easy to deal, I believe this is what makes me decide to buy the system!"
Setup/video great, improvement needed in documentation and viewing methods
"Overall setup was seamless and video quality was great. There are several methods to access and view (Lorex phone app, web service, Lorex cloud, direct connection to NVR). Each method is a bit different. Documentation and use of each needs improvement and would be great if interface and capabilities were the same for each. Was unaware I could use the Lorex cloud app without a cloud account as the name might suggest. The GUI for direct connect to NVR is outdated and needs refreshing."
Hard Drive not working after 18 months
"My 2TB hard drive stopped working in July of 2025 and I purchased my Lorex NVR system with 4 cameras from Costco in February of 2024. I was able to replace the hard drive for $80 and now everything is working as it should. When I called customer service they only had the 4TB hard drives for $140 and since I was passed the 1 year warranty period there was nothing they could do to help me. I am not sure when my system stopped working because I only check occasionally. One day I received a call from the police and they stated that they were conducting an investigation in my neighborhood. I was excited to assist them. But when I went to retrieve the footage from my “security system” I found nothing was recorder. Very disappointed with the hard drive going out and lack of support from Lorex. If I had not hired an electrician and spent $400 installing the system would have returned it to Costco."
