Do your home work before buying

"Set up is not very straight forward! The technical support (off-shore call center) are anything but technical! Totally useless! If it were not for other reviews were users posted how they were able to set-up the cameras, I would have sent them back. Fisrt, make sure your wifi is operating at 2. 4GHz and not 5G. Second, if you are using an android, let the Lorex app (Lorex connect) have acces to everything possible. You can remove access after setup. Now you can follow the directions on the app. Camera issues: Battery status on the app is questionable. Battery level dropped from 100% to 7% in less than a week. Not sure if it is the app or just bad batteries. Cameras are set for least battery usage. Night vision is not so great compared to other Lorex cameras."

"The system to see footage from the cameras is ridiculously slow and it makes the videos in a format you can't just take the SD card out and view them on your computer. Very frustrated with this product."

"They are terribly slow. Loose connection constantly. You cant use the lorex classic app you have to use the new app so if you have the doorbell camera you need 2 separate apps. Overall very disappointing cameras."

"So far I have had zero issues. The only thing I don't like about this camera is that it makes a loud noise when it detects motion. Picture quality is good and motion sensor works well. For the price, well worth it."

These cameras setup easily and

"These cameras setup easily and do well enough for the application I'm using. The problem I have is the Connect App and the device settings. Couple of examples . . . Siren can be disabled but when sharing and ONLY allowing LIVE VIEW the stupid siren is able to be turned on by the shared user. To get around it, I had to enable the siren and turn the volume all the way down. If something is disabled (not turned on) why in the world would you give access to set it off to a shared user. Same instance for the pre-recorded messages. Had to turn the volume all the way down to make them not be heard if the shared user clicks on it. The Light is also similar! Why cannot we get rid of things the shared user can do! I have the light set to not come on with motion (not enabled) but the shared user can just turn it on and leave it on. The light also comes on with motion because the setting to show things in color at night was on. Make ONE place to turn these things off so that an ADMIN can share the devices with clients and not have the clients setting off sirens, making it talk, and turning the light on thus scaring the dogs that we are boarding. FIX THE APP!"

Connect system is not an improvement

"Long time Lorex customer, since around 2007. The new Connect system it not an improvement from the Classic, I’d say it’s a big step backwards. Most Connect cameras only do People or Vehicle detection, in an age where anll the competition is doing AI video detections and some now adding audio event alerting. I would not recommend any of the new Connect devices at this time. I bought this as a test."

I have the 1080p Full HD Smart Indoor Wi-Fi Pan-Tilt Security Camera. I use the classic app to view. Is there a way to use the same app for my camera and this camera? When will they be back in stock ? You don't need the "home hub" setup like with the classic setup ?: No, at this time we do not have an estimated date for when this camera will be back in stock. However, as it is a Wi‑Fi camera, a home hub is not required.
If I have a lorex system wired 8 camera system already will the wireless camera come up on the phone with the same system ? In the same screen an give alerts the same way: This camera is only compatible with the Lorex Connect app. If your recorder also works with this app, you’ll be able to view all devices together in the same app. However, if your recorder uses a different app, you won’t be able to add this camera to the same mobile app.
