I am very disapointed with

"I am very disapointed with these cameras. The splice distance settings cannot be change, "error, please check network" keeps appearing. The camera image is fisheye, and not acceptable. Nothing stealth about these at all with a bright green light advertising to everybody there is a camera present. I give Lorex a 2 star for these instead of 1, because I like their software."

Once it is setup, this

"Once it is setup, this camera is great, just like all the other Lorex cameras I own. However, there is an important detail that is not clearly presented that can make setup a real headache. This camera cannot be added to a WiFi network using WPA3 security. I tried over and over to get this thing to connect, but it always failed and provided no reason why. Finally, I called Lorex and was told about this issue. I temporarily switched my WiFi router to use WPA2, got the camera to connect, and then switched back to WPA3. Also, this camera draws more power than other Lorex WiFi models. This is understandable, given the dual sensors, but it was not obvious because it appears to use the exact same power supply as other models. I was replacing an older camera with this one, and I had previously plugged 2 Lorex cameras into an aftermarket 2-port USB power supply because I only had a single AC outlet available. When I tried the same with this camera, it did not work. I finally realized that it requires more power than the aftermarket supply could provide, forcing me to come up with an entirely different (and more cumbersome) solution to independently power each of the cameras. Since getting it setup and installed, it has been great."

"I have two 4K dual lens cameras and I live on a very busy corner lot . We feel the deterrent lights keep unwanted people thinking before doing anything . I love the clarity of the recordings . 👍👍👍"

Horrible and Inconsistent Customer Support

"The camera would not connect to my network, nor reset. Solid red light on all the time. I called support who troubleshot and agreed to replace the camera. At that time Lorex asked for a pic of the camera, which I emailed right away. That was over 2 weeks ago. Five calls later, with each call taking 30-60 minutes, I was repeatedly assured the replacement camera would be shipped with no action needed on my part. Today, I called to find out what was up and was informed they needed another pic of the serial number plate and to obtain other information I had also previously provided. LOREX support process is time consuming, inconsistent and overall horrible. I cannot recommend LOREX even though they have some nice products, their customer service is among the very worst out there. I would suggest you avoid LOREX for that reason."

It is not very good

"It is not very good at facial recognition even at a very close distance. Also, I would like to be able to use it from my desktop and obviously with those cameras you cannot. Did I buy the wrong camera for good facial recognition?"

"Both cameras arrived defective. The first 4 worked great but the last 2 I got to replace one that died after a few years not so much. Phone support was not helpful about getting replacements sent."

Q&A

We want to use this at a cabin when we are not there. We will have electricity available le for power. Can we see any recordings and setup notifications on a phone app? There is WiFi but no cell service. Would prefer to not have to have a separate recorder.
Yes, if you connect the W891UAD-E cameras to the Wi-Fi in the cabin, you can view recordings and set up notifications through the mobile app.
Can I install your cameras in my home in Guatemala and have the same performance and monitoring here in the usa???
Sure! Remember that as long as the recorder is connected via an Ethernet cable, you can view it from anywhere in the world.
Is this camera compatible with Lorex Smart Security Center ?
No, it is not compatible with the Lorex Smart Home Security Center.
Do I need to format the sd card? or do I need to do something different? I went to check recordings from a day ago and there are no recordings but the app is listing thumbnails. The camera is also stating that the device storage is almost full. Right now I just have the sd card as I found out that this camera is not compatible with the Lorex Smart Home Security Center.
